Networking for Sustainability

“Sustainability is not a goal to be reached but a way of thinking, a way of being, a
principle we must be guided by” - Giulio Bonazzi

We all start a business because we have found something that we are passionate
about, something we are good at and there is a demand for it, but is that always
enough?

The truth is working for yourself and by yourself can be isolating, and there can
be times where you feel like a hamster stuck on the wheel day in and day out.
According to data from the Bureau of Labour Statistics: about 20% fail in their
first year, and about 50% of small businesses fail in their fifth year. This is often
due to a lack of support and professional development and it is not sustainable
for the livelihood of small business owners and their families.

The power of surrounding yourself with like-minded people and other business
owners is insurmountable. Networking offers you the opportunity to not only
connect with other business owners to share support and a sense of community
but furthermore encourages peer mentoring and opening the lines of
communication between businesses to share ideas and create collaborations.
There is always more strength and sustainability in growing and scaling
together.

Attending networking events offer you the ability develop your professional
skills, to connect and share ideas with other business owners and to build a
support network of like-minded people who understand the struggles and
support the growth of your business.

The Boss Babes Project offers small business owners the opportunity to connect with like-minded women and share ideas to grow together and build a sustainable future for our small businesses. Check out www.thebossbabesproject.com.au for more information.
